OFC Manual Trenching
We have a specialised team of experts to execute the laying of optical fibre cable for the telecom industry by manual trenching. Some of the projects we are proud of include Laying power cable for the Kerala State Electricity Board 11KV cable laying in HDD method and manual trenching 66 KV cable laying in HDD method and manual trenching 11 KV and 66 KV cable jointing.
OFC Splicing and Blowing
We use state of the art equipment and procedures, to provide splicing and blowing of fibre-optic cable by our experienced team. So far we have executed over 5000+ kilometres of laying of Optical Fiber Networks by Horizontal Directional Drilling technology including all associated allied activities such as blowing and splicing in locations across India for Kerala State Electricity Board, AIRTEL, RAILTEL, and Network for Spectrum optic fibre cable laying for BSNL.
HDD Project
Horizontal Directional Drilling is a minimum impact, trenchless method for installing underground utilities. At SS engineering, we specializes in the techniques used for this modern, less hassle method of utility installation. We have executed 150+ kilometers of pipeline laying using the HDD method across various rivers and water bodies for large diameters and long lengths in all terrains including soil to hard rock. 4 inch to 24 inch iron pipe HDD pipe laid for Kerala water authority.4 inch to 20 inch laid across various locations in Kerala.
Pipe Pushing Projects
Pipe pushing another low impact utility installation technique is instrumental in executing projects in already urbanized areas. We have executed the pipe pushing project at Palakkad railway crossing and National Highways.
Pilot Drilling Projects
Installing a pilot hole drilled from the surface at a pre-determined angle and along a prescribed path. During the pilot bore, a sonder (transmitter) and a tracking (receiver) device are utilized to be able to precisely locate and steer the drill string underneath the surface.
Reaming
Enlarges the pilot hole to achieve the required size. Reaming is usually performed in stages until the final desired diameter of the hole is reached.
Pipe Pullback
The pipe is connected to the drill string and then pulled from the exit pit side towards the entry pit side on the same pre-reamed path. Rigs are sized according to the pull-back force they are able to supply.
Ground Penetrating Radar
Ground Penetrating Radar or GPR is an electromagnetic geophysical method for high resolution detection, imaging and mapping of subsurface soils and rock conditions. It is a very important Non Destructive Testing (NDT) method in near-surface ground investigations. The GPR uses high-frequency pulsed electromagnetic waves (10-3000 MHz) to acquire subsurface information
HDD and Why HDD
HDD or Horizontal Directional Drilling is a trenchless boring method for installing underground cables, pipes, and conduits in a shallow curve along a prescribed bore path. It is done with the use of a surface-launched rig/machine, which minimises the disruption of the surrounding areas like roadways.
With HDD the safety risks are also minimized as compared to open trenches and are perfectly suited to high volume traffic situations.
Trenching and excavation work is often far more costly and not practical and this is where HDD comes in, reducing the reinstatement costs of roads and driveways, thereby satisfying the demands of local Municipalities and residential, commercial and industrial estate managers.
SS Engineering is the best HDD contractor in Kerala and has worked for various companies like L&T, Reliance, Airtel etc. Contact us now for your HDD requirements.
